What is the Home-Based Program?

The clinical staff of Applied Behavioral Associates, LLC provide behavioral treatment that focuses on goal areas encompassing the full range of a child’s emerging skills and daily routine, and generally supplements a student’s Individual Education Plan. The program is a unique integrated therapy approach for treating children with Autism and other disabilities through direct home/community based teaching. Para-professionals provide direct 1:1 ABA services and receive ongoing clinical supervision and training.

The treatment program offers a variety of training through:

  • Discrete trial training (DTT)
  • Structured teaching
  • Incidental learning & generalization
  • Floor-time techniques
  • Total communication systems/PECS and ASL
  • Social skills training
  • Predictable daily routines & schedules
  • Visual supports
  • Community inclusion
  • Parent training

What Behaviors are Targeted for Treatment? 

Target behaviors for treatment might include but are not limited to:
  • Tantrums
  • Challenging/aggressive/disruptive behaviors
  • Self-control/anger control
  • Play and leisure skills
  • Pre-academic/academic skills
  • Functional language skills
  • Social skills training
  • Attention to task
  • Adaptive living/self-help skills
  • Compliance
  • Personal safety
  • Independence in daily routines
  • Managing stereotypic and/or atypical behaviors
  • Community inclusion

Services are provided in the home, office, and community settings. All treatment programs are individualized to meet the developmental, cognitive, social and behavioral needs of each child.


Who Can Benefit from our Home-Based Services? 

Services are provided to children with Autism and other developmental disabilities with challenging behavioral and learning issues. Children with global developmental delays can also benefit from home-based services.

Children of all ages are treated in our program including:

  • Early Intervention (birth to 3)
  • Preschool (ages 3 to 5)
  • Elementary School
  • Middle and High School
